CHAI.TV is a small, boutique building design practice, providing full design consultancy service in preliminary feasibility studies, sketch design concept, Development Applications, contract documentation, contract administration, and completion evaluation. Areas of specialisation include Commercial, Residential, Retail, Hospitality and mix-use projects. 

CHAI.TV operates in a friendly design studio environment, with innovation within the overall objective of design excellence, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 

The CHAI building design has been developed over two decades, primarily employed by major leading design companies in Sydney since graduating Bachelor of Architecture with honours Class 1 at the University of New South Wales 1985. He has gained extensive experience in the high quality residential, major retail and hospitality projects. His innovative ideas, supported with a high degree of attention to details are spontaneous and timeless.

Chai is a pragmatist with a design approach of practicality, function and economy.  He starts with the physical aspects of interior and exterior architecture and merged them into the realm of sensory experience.  He explores the sensual quality of different materials with light and texture and space, and perfection with detailing which lead us to enjoy and experience the most traditional materials of timber, stone, glass and steel in new ways.

His goal is to achieve design excellence with a timeless quality that enriches any built environment and experience for the ultimate comfort and benefit of the client and community as a whole.  For the contemporary house and apartment living, he cultivates the principles of energy efficient design, emphasising a strong design edge, space, light, volume, ventilation and comfort, convenience and function suitable for entertaining and which will compliment urban lifestyle requirements.

CHAI's favourite contemporary designers are Jean Neuvel, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano,SJB, Engelen Moore, Burley Katon Halliday, Denton Corker Marshall, Harry Seidler, Marchese Partners, Andrew Parr from SJB, Bligh Voller Nield, and Hassell Group.
